Key Responsibilities:

• Influence how users will interact with eBay's recommender systems
• Work with large datasets of unstructured multimodal data representing eBay's inventory
• Develop and deploy AI models that have a direct impact on user engagement
• Deploy big data technology and large-scale data pipelines
• Promote organic and sponsored recommendations to drive marketplace growth

Qualifications:

• MS in Computer Science or related field with 1+ years of relevant work experience (or BS/BA with 3+ years)
• Experience building large-scale distributed applications and expertise in OO/functional languages like Scala, Java
• Experience working with NoSQL databases and key-value stores such as MongoDB, Redis
• Can-do attitude with a willingness to learn new skill sets as needed
• Experience with cloud services (GCP preferred) and big data pipelines (Hadoop, Spark, Flink)
• Experience in AI research and industrial recommendation systems is a plus
• Experience with Large Language Models and prompt engineering is a plus
