Description

Attracting experienced professionals, this role demands a minimum of 15 years in fruit and vegetable sourcing with mandi operations. As the Mandi Buyer for fruits and vegetables, you'll source fresh produce directly from local mandis, farmers, and traders to ensure quality, quantity, and pricing meet optimal standards. Key responsibilities include daily procurement negotiations, maintaining supplier relationships, monitoring market trends, and managing inventory records.

Key Responsibilities:

• Purchase fruits and vegetables from local mandis, farmers, and suppliers on a daily basis
• Ensure quality standards, freshness, grading, and correct weight of produce
• Negotiate prices and payment terms to achieve cost efficiency
• Monitor daily market prices, demand trends, and seasonal availability
• Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams for timely dispatch and delivery
• Minimize wastage and ensure optimal yield
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, commission agents, and farmers

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of fruits & vegetables (quality, grading, seasonality)
• Experience working in mandis (APMC knowledge preferred)
• Good negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to work early mornings and handle pressure
• Basic record-keeping and numerical skills
• Familiarity with weighing, sorting, and quality checks
